Global Entry Application Process
What is Global Entry?
Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved travelers entering the United States.
Step 1: Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, and certain foreign nationals.

Step 2: Create a Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) Account
- Visit the Trusted Traveler Program website (https://ttp.dhs.gov/) and click 'Get Started' in the Global Entry column.
- Click on 'Create Account' and fill in your details.
- Verify your email address to activate the account.
Step 3: Complete the Application
- Log in to your TTP account.
- Fill out the Global Entry application with your personal, travel, and background information.
- Pay the non-refundable application fee of $120.
Step 4: Wait for Conditional Approval
- Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection(CBP).
- You will receive an email when your application status changes.
- This process can take several weeks to several months.
Step 5: Schedule an Interview by Open Appointment
- After conditional approval, you need to schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center.
- You can check appointment availability at multiple locations.

Step 6: Schedule an Interview at a specific Enrollment Center Location
- Choose from available enrollment centers.
- Select a convenient date and time.
- Receive confirmation of your appointment.
- View enrollment center locations
Step 7: Complete the Interview
- Bring your valid passport and one other form of identification.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early for your interview.
- The officer will take your photo, scan your fingerprints, and ask questions about your application.
- Most interviews take about 15 minutes.
Step 8: Receive Your Global Entry Card
- If approved at the interview, you can start using Global Entry immediately.
- Your Global Entry card will arrive by mail within 7-10 business days.
- Your membership is valid for 5 years from approval.
Step 9: Using Global Entry
- Use Global Entry kiosks at airports instead of regular customs lines.
- Scan your passport and fingerprints at the kiosk.
- Complete the customs declaration on the kiosk screen.
- Take your printed receipt to the exit.
